This course is designed for geoscientists and geotechnicians who want a comprehensive overview of KINGDOM seismic (2d/3dPAK and VuPAK) and geological (EarthPAK) interpretation packages.
The course material is presented over five days in a workflow format with hands-on and follow-along exercises to demonstrate functionality and to facilitate learning. The class includes the following topics:
• Creating projects and managing authors
• Understanding cartographic projections
• Understanding the quality control tools for seismic and well data
• Creating cross sections
• Creating cross plots
• Picking formation tops
• Interpreting faults and horizons
• Generating grids and contour maps, including kriging algorithms
• Performing time to depth conversions
NOTE: The course manual can be used as a reference and many of the exercises can be used as guides or stepped-out procedures for interpretation. No prior knowledge of VuPAK is required. Some familiarity of 2d/3dPAK and EarthPAK is beneficial but not required.
